Direct Lift Pit (CLICK TO SEE MOVIE) systems are Usually installed outdoors in 2 or 3 (CLICK TO SEE MOVIE) high configuration. This unit is an in-the –ground mini elevator system, mostly used for residential properties where normal lifts would block the view or it is not desired or allowed for the cars to be stacked above the ground and where the pit cost is minimal. It is sometimes used in commercial buildings but the pit costs are very high. An interesting application of this system places a flat roof on the top of the system so when it is lowered completely into the ground the roof becomes the ground. If you put Astroturf and potted plants on this roof/floor the parking area looks like a garden.
